Bar Services
Offering a bar with alcoholic beverages enhances any catered event. Aspen Catering is TABC licensed and our bartenders are TABC-certified which reduces your liability.
We offer several options and levels of bar service, whether it’s a traditional business special event, wedding reception, or celebration. The most common bar service includes beer, wine, spirits, and possibly a themed or signature drink. The types are:
Open Bar
Cash Bar
Combination Bar Service
Open Bar Service
The host provides all beverages served to the guest at no expense. The bar menu can be beer and wine, wine and a signature drink, or beer, wine and spirits. Champagne toasts can also be included in this bar service.
Cash Bar Service
A cash bar allows the guests to pay for their beverage with little expense to the host. The host should expect to pay for any bartender, bar back, and service charges associated with this bar service unless arranged otherwise with the caterer.
Combination Bar Service
This option combines the two services, with the host paying for part of the bar and the guests paying for their drinks at some point. The host may provide two free drinks to guests using tickets or tokens to exchange for a drink at the bar. Any beverages consumed after those are used would be paid for by the guests ordering the drink.
This is a popular option for fundraisers, corporate events, and weddings because the host can plan their budget more accurately and avoid an unexpected bar service bill after the event.
TABC-Certified Bartenders
We provide only bartenders who are accredited by the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission for any event you’re hosting. To establish how many bartenders your catered event will need is based on:
- The bar package you select
- Any signature drinks or toasts being offered
- What glassware is being used
- Length of your event
Glassware
Real Glassware
Using real wine glasses, bar glasses, and champagne flutes adds a touch of formality to your event and requires careful handling, which means more bartenders will be needed. There could also be unintentionally broken or missing glasses at the end of the event, which may mean a surprise bill at the end of your event. Your bar menu, venue regulations, and headcount determine how much of each type of glass is needed.
Disposable
Opting for disposable glassware allows bartenders to prepare drinks faster without worrying about breaking glasses, making this a more economical bar service choice. Any outdoor or catered event near a pool should always consider using disposable glassware. You can also combine real and disposable bar glassware by offering wine at dinner in a real glass or a champagne toast in a glass or crystal flute.
